A wonderful example of 19th Century English majolica. Incredibly detailed embossing of corn on the cob wrapped in the husk. Hand painted, and a dark stain rub over the yellow corn brings out the kernels in amazing detail. Heavy, sturdy and solid, and covered in a thick clear glaze. Such a fun piece to actually use on the table, and makes a darling vase as well. No markings on the bottom. This is the second of two that were found on a buying trip to the English countryside.
