This antique heavy cut glass sugar bowl - American Brilliant Period (ABP) - is in very good condition. It was made in the U.S. between 1880 and 1917. ABP cut glass was the finest in the world, exceptionally clear and heavy fine crystal with deep cuts that create sparkling, luminous glass. It is in very good condition - very few nicks, mostly flea bites and only one small chip hidden in the carved top. I have shown most of the nicks and tried to photograph the chip.

I bought it along with a number of other ABP cut glass pieces at an estate auction in Columbia County, NY about 10 years ago. It’s been wrapped up and in storage.

Sugar bowls are just as useful for holding jam, nuts, sprinkles for ice cream, candy, etc., and make an elegant gift. This would be a perfect bridal shower gift.
