Usually candlesticks a century+ in age are worn and dented and stand a little cattywampus. These are straight and the silver is just lovely. The markings are very English, most likely indicating silver plate, but otherwise give me few hints - except their faintness supports the age speculation. The undersides are covered in green leather, not the sort of thing we see in 20th century sticks. The detail is superb and the weight is excellent. I would think they were Sterling if they were damaged because Sterling damages so easily, but these must be old plate.
