The Corinthian column sits on a multi-ringed knop, above a similarly multi-ringed base.
Where most silver candlesticks have a detailed capital with a sconce/drip pan/bobeche on the very top, this unique pair of candlesticks has it's sconce/drip/bobeche about 1.75-2 inches below the top - located below the capital. It adds to the elegance of these candlesticks, making the appear even taller and sleeker.
