Rare, beautifully preserved 1950's vintage plate hand painted by Clarice Cliff for Royal Staffordshire Sunkissed series. Clarice Cliff was an English ceramic artist active from 1922 to 1963. The plate is in nearly mint condition with no chips or cracks to note, minimal if any signs of wear. It's about 8 1/2" in diameter and features a pear motif. The bottom is stamped with "Genuine Handpainted SUNKISSED Royal Staffordshire Dinnerware by Clarice Cliff Made in England".
This quirky piece would make a wonderful addition to any cottage, traditional, or mid-century home.
