A beautiful Italian "Blue Carnation" faience cream and sugar (pair) decorated with red, dark blue, and yellow flowers with greenery on a pale blue background in a chinoiserie pattern, opaque glazes on sturdy earthenware motifs, 4.25" diameter of cream, 4.75" height of cream, 5.5" diameter of sugar, 5.5" height of sugar, both adopted from a 16th century pattern, circa fourth quarter of the 20th century, Vecchia Faenza inscribed on the back of both the cream and sugar, provenance Gump's, San Francisco, 1970's.
