Home Tableware & Barware | Vintage Mid-Century Modern Georges Briard Raised Gold on Porcelain Trivet RK21184

This mid-century modern porcelain trivet epitomizes Georges Briard’s sophisticated yet whimsical abstractions.A group of townhouses are rendered in a beautifully reflective raised gold.In the early 1960’s, Georges Briard was commissioned by H. Leslie Moody and Frances Moody, owners of 'Hyalyn Porcelain Company', to design modern shapes for a bisque porcelain line produced in white and earthtone colors. This piece is a rare find if you are a 'Briard' fan or trivet collector. It is presumably part of that "Midas" collection as the design is in keeping with the design theme of the other pieces in the line.

In very good vintage shape for age and use.Cork backing is damaged in two places and there is a very small nick on the edge of the white border. There is a metal grommet on the right front side of the piece as shown in the photo, possible to hang it.Zoom in on photos to see imperfections.
