Offering a large, heavily decorated Bernard Bloch -- style majolica tureen / punch bowl. This unusual and beautiful piece might have served as a "Gluhwein" pot, traditionally used in Germany to serve warm mulled wine or rum punch.
This is a very large centerpiece bowl hand-glazed in the 1970s in a striking pale Fuchsia and with a soft ivory interior. It features an intricate relief of fairy tale creatures, including a cat holding a fish on the lid, mythical gryphon dragon handles, and a center image of the same punch bowl in a room full of busy little gnomes. This piece masterfully combines old world German/Austrian charm with a more contemporary pop of color that will certainly add a touch of whimsy to your room design!
