Other pieces are in excellent condition and the ladle is original. I have tried to show the damaged area from the top and bottom. Here is a lovely majolica asparagus tureen set by Bordallo Pinheiro. It is pretty as can be on display, and the petite size is perfect for serving hollandaise sauce.I purchased the set in Portugal in the 1980's, and the underplate took a hit in my carry-on bag. I did my best to picture the damage - which is nearly invisible from the top.The set is priced accordingly.
