I was told that this copper cooking pot is very old, perhaps the oldest in my collection. It is still serviceable for many years to come to use to cook a dish or to proudly display. It appears to have been used over burning ember fires at one time. The shape is a classic shape, I am sure
still being replicated -probably in stainless steel now.
The beauty of this pot is the wonderful work on all sides. You can spend hours contemplating the design. At first I thought it was animals in a jungle. But why would that be the theme,
because this pot was found in Baluchistan a very arid spot, not leaning towards jungle.
Then I began to realize that the design depicted Paradise from the Scriptures. The rewards of a good life. So one could cook dinner and think of Paradise at the same time.
The pot is beautifulcopperlined in tin. The work is extremely special.I hope it lands in a displayshowing the beauty of a nomadic existence now gone forever.
