Wedgwood produced this series of china for Harvard University in 1936 to commemorate the Tercentenary of the University’s founding in 1636.A rare set in beautiful condition.The set includes 6 demitasse cups and 6 saucers.
Each cup depicts a different Harvard Hall, including: Holworthy Hall (1812), Boylston Hall (1857), Memorial Church (1932), Hemenway Gymnasium (1878) The First Gore Hall (1838), and Dane Hall (1832).
The cups and plates are marked in red on the back with "Harvard Tercentenary,” “Jones, McDuffee & Stratton, Boston,” and "Wedgwood Etruria England". Embossed on the back in addition to the red markings is "Wedgwood, Made in England". The plates have “Wedgwood” and “Made in England” de-bossed, as well as numbers that are hard to read.
Each cup measures 2.5” tall and 2.125” in diameter, 3” wide with handle.Each cup holds 4 fluid ounces.
Each saucer plate measures 4.75” diameter, .625" tall
