The interior gilding on the teacups has a few worn spots. There are a few dots of color from the application of color in the bottom of some cups. Very classic Soviet Russian tea service produced for the eastern provinces. This set has an
Uzbek inscription saying it commemorates the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Republic
of Uzbekistan. I bought it in Samarkand in 1976 and have kept it with me ever since.
Time to let go. The colors of deep blue and gold on white are stunning. I love the pattern. It was not used, but stored carefully.
There is one large platter, a bowl for fruit, five tea cups and a teapot. I have always thought the pot was for green tea. That is what I was served while visiting.
