This set, from Indiana glass's Tiara line, was part of the natural texture movement from the 60s to 70s. The pieces are made by heavy, thick pieces of midnight black glass, in a very good approximation of a hard ice texture. There is no light play through the glass, no matter how much you try. This would be an very good piece to display regularly in plain view, as well as use for serving. If you could find more of the smaller bowls, it would be incredible for display above a mid century china cupboard or entertainment center as focal point. It was also made in a clear crystal ice, that was more common, but finding bowls in either is challenging, black is nearly impossible. The large bowl measures 9.25"w x 9.25"d x 4"h, the smaller, 5"w x 5"d x 2.25"h
