Offering a large ANTIQUE Famille Jaune Chinese ceramic porcelain soup tureen or covered dish with large oval serving platter. There are several Chinese symbols on the bottom indicating the Quinlong Dynasty.Although this is an old piece, it most likely dates early to mid 20th Century. Both piece are signed in the same manner. They are a matching set.
It is executed in the classic yellow or Famille Jaune technique with 2 five clawed dragons on the top lid, two five clawed dragons on each side of the handled dish, and 2 five clawed dragons on the oval serving platter.Traditional Chinese Greek key borders with a wave border at the base of the bowl.Chinese symbols of stylized fire and smoke or clouds decorate both pieces. Please note that there is no hole in the lid for a soup ladle, so most likely this was designed as a serving dish.
VERY GOOD CONDITION.....one small chip on the inside of the lid and mentioned only for thoroughness as it cannot be seen when the lid is in place.
A stunning antique utilitarian or display item for a luxury Palm Beach or Boho Chic décor. Also great for a Chinoiserie or Oriental style home....beautiful antique Asian porcelain at its best!
