This exquisite Art Nouveau sterling silver and cut crystal wine decanter/water pitcher, made in 1867, exhibits the captivating and opulent design aesthetic of the Belle Epoqué. The top of this decanter is forged in sterling silver with truly stunning details: scrolling foliate forms resembling waves or Van Gogh's brushstrokes; a blooming iris on the face; diamond forms with etched sunbursts; and other diamonds teeming with miniature tessellated diamonds. The base is cut on the bottom with a sunburst pattern. This is a truly special piece that heralds back to the impeccable craftsmanship and old world elegance of another era. "5.4.1903" is inscribed on the underside of the lid. Additionally, there is a monogram on one side in Belle Epoque font reading "BTO". Excellent condition. English, Circa 1903
