Gorgeous, right? These French champleve pair of candlesticks are from the 1800s and in excellent condition.Champleve is different from Cloisonné in that with champleve, the design is etched into the brass then the enamel is poured in. With Cloisonné the design is created with wires and the enamel is then poured into the design. With this champleve design, the enamel colors are turquoise blue, white, and there are a few red accents. These colors, along with the dragon head handles, give these a strong, masculine feel. There are some flowers on the front, so these would be an excellent gift for a man or a woman. When I saw these I had to have them and I paid more than I usually do to get them. I Don’t really want to part with these, but for the right price, I will.Do you love them too?
