This vintage German bottle stopper was purchased in the early 70's in the Oberammergau Village of the Black Forest Region in Southern Germany where wood carving has been a way of life for decades. Sadly the tradition is dying out as customers choose to purchase the much less expensive, and definitely not expertly crafted, wooden figures made outside of Europe.
This particular piece features a fellow whose choice of pleasure can be changed by moving the lever in the back up and down. It has never been used for its function, only admired for its craftsmanship, therefore it is in excellent vintage condition.
