Anton Michelsen (1809-77) was a pioneering Danish silver and goldsmith, establishing his own company in 1841. Michelsen was appointed Court Goldsmith and Maker of Orders in 1848. For four generations, the Michelsen firm was a leading and influential dynasty of gold and silversmiths, designing many jewelry and silver commissions for the Danish Royal Family.
