ARTISAN STORY
The Dragon (Drago), for centuries has represented the "Rione del Drago" during the Palio horse race. "Rione" stands for Neighborhood. The Contrade Italian Ceramics are handcrafted in Siena, Italy. Drago is situated to the north-west of the Piazza del Campo. Traditionally, its residents were bankers. Drago's symbol is a flying golden dragon carrying a banner with the letter "u". Its colours are pink and green, trimmed with yellow. Drago won the Palio on July 2, 2014, and again on July 2, 2018. Drago’s ally is Aquila. Drago never had a rival Contrada.
