Home Tableware & Barware | British Sterling Tea Service by Martin & Hall in 1886 QU84156

This four piece tea service by Richard Martin and Ebenezer Hall in London in 1886 is a fine example of the heavy gauge and stylish English silver of the era. Pure classical lines are evident in the design and each pie is constructed to the highest standard. Each piece of the set bears the same marks on the side and the same inventory numbers on the base, meaning that it is a true set rather than an assembled set. The lids on both the coffee and the tea have the same marks, meaning the lids are original. Each piece of the service is in excellent condition with only the minor surface scuffs created by usage over time. Each piece has a very nice patina and no dents or repairs. The wooden part of the coffee pot is different from the one on the teapot; hence, it may not be original. The height of the tall coffee pot is 9.75". The total weight of the service is 54 ounces.
