This colorful pitcher has a ruffled tricorn rim flaring over a bulbous body that has optic-coin circles and bubble inclusions, and a ribbed clear glass handle. It is hand- blown art glass with the pontil mark polished away. All these features -- and the quality of the workmanship -- are attributable to the Mt. Washington Glass Company of New Bedford, Massachusetts. The pitcher was made circa 1880.
This lovely pitcher is perfect for special occasion service, or as a fanciful vase,or for display on its own on a table or shelf. It is an exquisite example of American craftsmanship and manufacturing history.
