Haviland and Co. Limoges Porcelain Vessel Single-handled Serving Bowl with Spout
C. 19th Century 1888-1896.

This vessel is marked “H & C L France”, the signature of Haviland and Co. Limoges. Haviland and Co. being the maker and Limoges France being the place of manufacture. This particular maker was an American family in France that was later responsible for the mass importation of porcelain into America.

In terms of design this piece has a scalloped rim with a handle - perhaps for pouring. The detailing on the sides renders vibrant flowers growing on vines. The red flower is considered a trademark of their work.
Gilt edges and handles with decorative swirls. Sides have gold trim and a swirl with red and yellow flower pattern.
