Difficult to find set of eight matching early 19th century English transferware Plates with scalloped edge, Central neoclassical urn design and Italian sailing vessels portrayed in segmented border. The large dinner plates are marked “Canova” but do not have a makers mark but are most likely Goodwin & Harris, George Phillips or Thomas Mayer. This particular pattern was one of the most popular patterns for export to the United States in the early to mid 19th century.
