Home Tableware & Barware | 1990s Turkish Ottoman Tolga Sugar Bowl MQ26531

The helmet, which has been used since ancient times and protects the warrior’s head against impacts, is one of the tools of close defense. Although the helmet is a protective weapon, it has been used as a magnificent element in state and military ceremonies with its striking appearance.
Helmets, which are a work of Turkish handicrafts with their production and decoration techniques, differ from the examples of other cultures with these features. Techniques such as forging, cutting, rivet, casting, chain knitting have been used in the production of helmets, whose main material is metal. In addition, metal decoration techniques such as gold, silver, and stone inlay, relief, cutting, sandblasting were used in the ornaments.

Tolga Şekerlik was designed inspired by a 16th-century helmet exhibited at Topkapı Palace, which is considered to be the most mature period for Turkish helmets.

Tolga Şekerlik is made of handmade glass and all the patterns on it are handcrafted and decorated using 24-carat gold gilding.
