Made in the 1940's and marked 'Made in Occupied Japan' this petite serving bowl would be a great addition to your collection of Blue Willow dishes.
A true Blue Willow pattern must have the following components in its illustration: three men, a boat, a fence, a weeping willow, an island, a pagoda, an orange tree, birds, a bridge, and borders on the outside and inside edges of the plate. By the early 19th century there were many variations of the design being produced, but all with these items included on each piece.
Measuring 5.5" in diameter and 1.5" high, this bowl is in very good condition with no chips or cracks, some firing flaws and age crazing.
