Vintage;Circa 1910-1940's, Birmingham, England is this English Barker \-Ellis (Ellis-Barker) silver plate ribbed ice bucket with ringed handles and lion heads.Hand-honed details abound such as;Lion Heads on apposing ended sides with ringed handles, going thru the lion mouths, along with Festooned Garland-like hand design details throughout perimeter edge top surround.Also there is a removable round insert layer for the interior base bottom, which is a piece manufactured for water run-off, in order to maintain the quality of chunked ice,a nd not have them clump itself together, once water melts, with the excess melting below the ice cubed surface, water run-off from the ice.As is found ALSO is the polished chrome-plate over steel set of tongs, which came with this item.Maker's Markings on the underside, as second to the last image indicates, a "Menorah," which denotes cession periods, and pieces contorted with this markings, along with a number on one perimeter edge base bottom, the number "10," with a line underneath it, almost halfway indiscernible. There were distinctive pieces, which barker-Ellis made with this maker's markings, and most were made with copper and either silver, silver-plated, or sterling, BUT of a better quality and distinction given to them.

We chose the main image to showcase, one SMALL minute man-made flaw, such as a wee small dent.Someone sure partied a great deal, bar service seemed an essential part to this Estate.
Minor wear due to era and use, normal and indicative. with used antique pieces, as there is a minor flaw near and below one of the ring handles BUT on the body, assume minute pitting to it, and a couple of scratches, which certainly are not detractions, but part and partial to era and use. to this ice bucket.Certainly does not detract to the overall piece, given the quality of it, including that wee small dent to one side of ice bucket, which we mentioned, otherwise it is in pretty good condition.
